Dennis

Plant Manager

With over 35 years' service at Slicker, Dennis is our longest serving colleague. There is nothing that Dennis doesn’t know about our plant and a great deal of the knowledge and expertise that went in to developing our plant is owed to Dennis. Dennis is a dedicated worker, a dedicated family man and a dedicated follower of football. Well, Stoke City!

 

Aimee

Lab Chemist

Having joined us as a temporary colleague Aimee, a recent graduate from The University of Birmingham, is now completing her training in the laboratory to get signed off as a permanent chemist where she will play a key role in analysing the quality of the waste oil being collected from our customers, as well as the quality of the processed fuel oil which we produce for onward sale.

Aimee has enjoyed meeting the team at the induction and is now looking forward to the Slicker Christmas party!

 

Will

Finance Assistant

Will has started his first full-time role with Slicker as Finance Assistant and is flying through his AAT qualifications to support his career in finance.

As a Colleague Representative Will plays a key role supporting his colleagues in the office to ensure that communication is effective and there is a great working environment.

Olivia

Trainee Account Manager

In a short amount of time, Olivia has shown off her talents for customer service and has progressed from a part-time Receptionist to a full-time Trainee Account Manager.

We also discovered that Olivia has other hidden talents as she successfully won the Rowing Cup Challenge with 3 of her Slicker colleagues in a local charity competition.

The cup takes pride of place on the reception desk and we are looking forward to winning it next year!

Full Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Sales Coordinator within our Commercial department to provide efficient administrative support for a team of Account Managers. Organised and professional the Sales Coordinator will provide exceptional support to the team, with specific emphasis on proposal and contract preparation, management information, data analysis and day to day correspondence.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Main Tasks will include: 

  • Processing collection requests and general enquiries from managed commercial and key account customers
  • Manage emails received within the National Accounts inbox
  • Monitor company service delivery to ensure this is consistent with contractual obligations
  • Provide second line support for any issues which require escalation from customer services department
  • Assist in meeting preparation for Account Managers (AM’s) to include management information, excel reports and feedback on day-to-day activities at site level
  • Appointment booking and diary management for field-based AM’s
  • Managing customer information and highlighting exceptions within account profitability
  • Highlight additional sales opportunities for AM’s through customer compliance telephone audits
  • Proactively seek opportunities for account growth through gap analysis with support from AM’s
  • Execute regular promotional activity and call campaigns as set by the AM’s and National After Sales Manager
  • Compile monthly management information and rebate reports to agreed format
  • Alert relevant employees of any irregularity, lack of compliance, lack of adherence and any related issues whether actual or potential concerning business activities that could or do have a significant risk implication for the company
  • Attend occasional customer meetings on or off-site with AM’s
  • Preparing and sending welcome packs and re-introduction packs to new and existing customers
  • Contacting customers to advise collection dates
  • Chasing collection dates for customers when requested
  • Maintaining customer account detail such as contact information, purchase order numbers etc
  • Build, develop and maintain productive and professional relationships with site employees through regular communication
  • Work closely with other departments and divisions to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution
  • Applying the Slicker values to your role, “People rarely succeed unless they have Fun in what they are doing.”

  • Excellent communication skills across all formats, with the ability to engage and inspire confidence in colleagues and customers
  • Consistently high levels of customer service and professionalism in all areas

  • Proven experience within an administrative role
  • Experience of working within a commercial team – desirable

The Contact Centre is a busy hub within head office where our advisors handle all enquiries from new and existing sales through to customer service. Advisors focus on increasing our feedstocks to maximise input to our processing plant.

Our Finance team prepare and create financial accounts, maintain financial records, plan internal financial information, analyse current financial performance and pay creditors and employee salaries.

Total Waste Management

The TWM advisors manage a small network of sub-contractors to carry out services that Slicker are not equipped or licensed to perform in-house. Our advisors monitor supplier performance to ensure that high levels of service are consistently met.

Aftersales

Our Sales Co-ordinators and Account Managers look after our large commercial and key accounts customers by maintaining strong working relationships, enabling us to retain and grow our business and increase efficiencies.

We have a centralised logistics department managing the largest and most modern transport fleet of compliant vehicles in the industry, comprising of over 100 specialist vehicles. This includes oil collection vehicles, garage waste service trucks, articulated trailers and front-line interceptor vehicles.

Laboratory

Several years of research and development by our Lab Chemists has enabled us to produce environmentally cost-effective virgin fossil fuel alternatives. It is our mission to be innovative and lead the way in the re-refining used oil and the recycling of other wastes we collect to avoid landfill.

Plant Operatives

The waste oil we collect is treated using our own proprietary technology processes at the Slicker refinery plants. Our Plant Operatives are responsible for the day-to-day running and maintenance of the plant to enable us to continue producing an environmentally friendly and cost-effective alternative to virgin fossil fuels.

Training

From your very first day at Slicker Recycling, your induction will help you to better understand the requirements of your role, the team you will be working with, and the important part you will play in our business.

To help you settle in as quickly as possible you will have regular monthly catch ups with your manager as part of your structured probation period and they will be always be on hand if you need anything.
