Slicker Recycling, a nationwide service provider of used lubricating oil and hazardous waste collections, has lifted an industry-recognised award for its outstanding customer service to the UK’s leading independent garage network, Servicesure Autocentres.

Slicker Recycling, which collects and re-refines over 80 million litres of used lubricating oil annually, were presented with the Servicesure Autocentre 2023 ‘Supplier of the Year” Award at the recent awards night held at Coombe Abbey, Warwickshire.

The company was chosen ahead of a long list of approved partners for its successful six-year-long association with the 600-strong network of UK independent garages.

Throughout their partnership, Slicker Recycling has provided sustainable solutions to meet the waste management needs of Servicesure garages. Through a carbon-efficient process, Slicker have helped the collective membership save up to 100,000 kg of carbon emissions every year, whilst reducing their waste management spend, thanks to exclusive discounted rates.

Sean Thorpe, National Sales Manager at Slicker Recycling said: “It’s always a proud moment to win an award which recognises long-term success and commitment. We are truly grateful to be recognised by Servicesure’s members.

“Not only are we providing an outstanding collection service, but through our carbon-efficient, waste-oil-to-base-oil approach, we support the Servicesure Autocentre network by reducing their carbon footprint and helping them contribute to the circular economy. We also provide them with a number of sustainable workshop waste management solutions that adhere to the internationally recognised waste hierarchy, which prioritises recycling and re-use over disposal.

“Overall, the award is a terrific milestone and I’d like to thank those from Servicesure and the wider industry who have taken the time to send us their best wishes and congratulations.”

Slicker Recycling’s award was collected by Sophie Blackburn and Mike Parker from the company’s New Business team at the ceremony held in Coventry’s historic Coombe Abbey. The award was presented by GSF Group’s Head of Garage Programmes Paul Dineen, and EastEnders actor, Shaun Williamson.
